Biggar Youth Project

What We Do

BYP provides activities and services for young people aged 11 to 18 years who live in the catchment area of Biggar High School - a vast rural area in excess of 300 square miles, ranging from Leadhills to Tarbrax!
Established in 1995 we are now based in our new (and permanent) home in the Old Auction Ring at the top of the Clydesdale Close, just off the High Street.
Our activities during term time include evening sessions, trips, extended hours during Study Leave as well as acting as an additional Common Room for many of the 6th years at Biggar High.
Biggar Bytes - our lunchtime drop in cafe for High School pupils - is as popular as ever with a range of healthy eating and drinks choices at reasonable prices all available in a safe and welcoming environment and served by friendly staff. The free fruit and salad at these sessions are always popular too!

Study Leave

As in previous years we are extending our opening hours during Study Leave for S4, S5 & S6 pupils during exams. We offer a safe place to go in between exams, dedicated study area, healthy snacks and drinks and free access to internet as well as a shoulder to cry on! Opening hours are displayed on posters at High School, on our website and on our front door.
